Language Arts Curriculum Designer

Responsibilities

• Design engaging and interactive language arts items to meet specified educational objectives
• Write and edit user-facing content, collaborating with writers, editors, and illustrators to ensure accuracy and age-appropriateness
• Manage projects and collaborate with software engineers and visual designers to deliver high-quality content
• Brainstorm improvements for existing IXL language arts content
• Research and review alignment to educational standards, common assessments, and popular curricula
• Stay current on related scholarly and business trends in education

Requirements

• Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in education, English, linguistics, or a related field
• Experience in English teaching, tutoring, or mentoring
• Outstanding written and spoken communication skills
• Ability to think strategically and solve problems creatively
• Strong attention to detail and a can-do attitude
• Ability to work onsite in the Raleigh, NC area

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in curriculum development and instructional design
• Experience working specifically with grades 6–12
• Familiarity with HTML, Jira, or spreadsheet formulas
