About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop design concepts and detailed plans for wetland, riparian, floodplain, estuarine, and upland habitat restoration
- Prepare impact calculations, mitigation plans, restoration planting plans, and grading plans
- Integrate biological, hydrological, and engineering data into multidisciplinary design efforts
- Develop construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Provide construction-phase support through field observation, RFI responses, and contractor coordination
- Manage project tasks including budgets, schedules, deliverables, and team coordination
- Oversee and guide early-career staff through mentorship and technical review
- Participate in proposal development and business development efforts
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture, ecological restoration, or related environmental design
- Significant experience in habitat restoration and mitigation projects (wetland, riparian, shoreline, or upland)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Civil 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
- Experience producing construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Ability to work in the field, including walking on uneven terrain and conducting site visits in varying weather
- Strong graphic, written, and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed Landscape Architect in Washington and/or Oregon
- Advanced visualization and rendering skills (Rhino, Lumion, SketchUp, or comparable 3D software)
- Experience with traditional landscape architecture such as parks, trails, and urban waterfront spaces
- Experience leading client presentations or community engagement
