Land Surveying Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Manage survey vendor contracts to provide quality land surveying services in a safe and cost-effective manner.
• Oversee contractor staff and outside consultants for transmission lines, distribution lines, gas lines, and land acquisitions.
• Monitor, inspect, and review survey work for compliance with technical specifications, schedules, and budgets.
• Develop project scopes, calculate in-house estimates, and generate requests for quotes.
• Perform quality checks on survey project deliverables, including field work, maps, and electronic files.
• Review vendor invoices and recommend payments based on performance.
• Maintain effective working relationships with internal departments, vendors, and governmental agencies.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Surveying and Topography (or related degree) with 2+ years of related work experience, OR
• High School/GED with 4+ years of related work experience.
• Ability to read construction plans.
• Proficiency in standard surveying software and performing complex computations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) certification.
• Strong project management skills and experience directing multiple survey vendors.
• Extensive knowledge of professional surveying practices, laws, and regulations.
• Familiarity with high voltage transmission route surveys.
• Experience in land surveying management.
