Land Agent

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and key stakeholders, managing the acquisition and negotiation of real property rights for energy projects.
• Negotiate easements, leases, fee property, permits, and other agreements for permanent or temporary rights.
• Work with landowners to understand development limits, access, and site considerations affecting project layout.
• Examine public records to determine land ownership, title chains, and identify surface owners, tenants, and mortgage holders.
• Analyze local land values to develop acquisition offer ranges and pre-assess damage payments.
• Document all communication with landowners, including in-person meetings, emails, and phone calls, using Microsoft Office and data entry platforms.
• Represent the client in meetings with various state and county government or agency officials.

Requirements

• Active real estate license in the state of Minnesota.
• Associate's degree.
• At least 2 years of land services experience within the energy industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and mapping platforms like Google Earth.
• Ability to travel and work flexible/long hours in both office and field environments.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with capital projects and transmission line infrastructure/development.
• Previous experience in title research and abstracting legal documents.
