About the role

Responsibilities

  • Drive new Lakebase revenue by identifying, qualifying, and driving activations and consumption within a defined territory
  • Lead with outcomes for key personas including platform teams, developers, and data teams
  • Sell the value of fully-managed Postgres for intelligent applications and AI-driven experiences
  • Run complex, multi-threaded sales cycles from discovery through commercial negotiation and close
  • Orchestrate proof-of-value and POCs in partnership with solution architects
  • Compete against legacy and cloud-native operational databases using benchmarks and customer references
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Marketing, and Customer Success to shape territory plans
  • Enable the field by sharing best practices and success stories with broader sales teams

Requirements

  • 7+ years of enterprise SaaS sales experience
  • Proven success selling data platforms, operational databases, or data/AI infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of modern data and application architectures (cloud-native, microservices, event-driven)
  • Ability to sell to both technical stakeholders and business leaders
  • Experience leading specialist or overlay sales motions
  • Executive presence with ability to lead C-level conversations and whiteboard architectures
  • Strong value selling, storytelling, and negotiation skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling Postgres, operational databases, or OLTP workloads
  • Familiarity with lakehouse architectures and cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Understanding of reverse ETL, real-time decisioning, and operational analytics
  • Exposure to AI-native and agent-driven applications
  • Experience in high-growth, category-creating environments
  • Experience collaborating with partners and ISVs for co-sell motions
