Labourer Non Ferrous Receiver

Responsibilities

• Receive various types of metals and perform initial classification
• Direct metals to appropriate locations
• Open and close daily operations
• Welcome customers and inform them of current metal prices
• Process payments and answer telephone calls
• Prepare shipping documents and balance the cash register
• Participate in unloading, sorting, and weighing of metals
• Enter data into RECY software
• Operate various equipment, including a forklift
• Ensure cleanliness of the premises

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience in a similar position
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
• Ability to work outdoors in hot or cold temperatures
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to perform metal sorting on a table or on the ground

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of metal recycling
• Experience operating a forklift
