Laborer I

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy and general manual labor to assist trades workers on construction sites
• Prepare and clean job sites to maintain an organized work environment
• Load, unload, and deliver construction materials and supplies
• Operate small power tools including drills, saws, core drills, and hammer drills
• Assist with specialized tasks such as pipe laying, concrete forming, and demolition
• Perform hand digging, grading, and compacting of base rock and asphalt
• Service, clean, and maintain tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good repair

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED
• 5 years of recent experience in heavy construction work
• Strong knowledge of general construction terms and common hand tools
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods
• Ability to lift 35 pounds multiple times throughout a shift
• Ability to work in various conditions, including dusty environments, low light, and uneven surfaces
• Ability to follow oral and written directions in English
• Physical capability to bend, twist, squat, and climb stairs or ladders
