About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct assistance to skilled trades including plumbers, pipefitters, A/C mechanics, carpenters, electricians, painters, and masons
  • Perform semi-skilled maintenance and construction tasks across various trades
  • Operate on and off-road utility vehicles and light trucks to support assigned work
  • Requisition job parts and supplies as needed
  • Document work by completing electronic work orders using smartphones or tablets
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support campus facilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two years of relevant full-time experience, including one year of sub-journeyman (apprentice or helper) experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or structural trades
  • Valid PA Driver's License
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds from ground to overhead
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, scaffolding, and bucket truck platforms
  • Ability to work various shifts, overtime, and call-out work
  • Successful completion of a background check, drug and alcohol screen, and fitness for duty assessment
  • Possession of PA Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Maintenance experience in an institutional setting (college, university, or hospital)
  • Formal training in electrical, mechanical, or structural systems
  • Relevant certifications such as lift certification, scaffolding, fall protection, or forklift operation
