About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct assistance to skilled trades including plumbers, pipefitters, A/C mechanics, carpenters, electricians, painters, and masons
- Perform semi-skilled maintenance and construction tasks across various trades
- Operate on and off-road utility vehicles and light trucks to support assigned work
- Requisition job parts and supplies as needed
- Document work by completing electronic work orders using smartphones or tablets
- Perform other duties as assigned to support campus facilities
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of relevant full-time experience, including one year of sub-journeyman (apprentice or helper) experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or structural trades
- Valid PA Driver's License
- Ability to lift 40 pounds from ground to overhead
- Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, scaffolding, and bucket truck platforms
- Ability to work various shifts, overtime, and call-out work
- Successful completion of a background check, drug and alcohol screen, and fitness for duty assessment
- Possession of PA Child Protection Clearances (Act 153)
Preferred Qualifications
- Maintenance experience in an institutional setting (college, university, or hospital)
- Formal training in electrical, mechanical, or structural systems
- Relevant certifications such as lift certification, scaffolding, fall protection, or forklift operation
