Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform processes and operate equipment required for the production of bulk viral antigen
• Apply aseptic techniques and mammalian cell culture practices within a roller bottle lab
• Operate downstream processing equipment, including tangential flow filtration and sterile filtration
• Identify mechanical problems and maintain bioreactors, fermenters, and support equipment
• Complete process documentation in strict accordance with GMP standards
• Follow all safety policies regarding biological and chemical components to protect personnel and product quality

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
• Ability to work 1st shift (7:15am – 3:45pm) with potential shift start time fluctuations

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in Biological Sciences
• Relevant experience in biological production or aseptic manufacturing
• Knowledge of mammalian cell culture practices and techniques
• Fundamental understanding of cell growth and general laboratory practices
