Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform processes and operate equipment required for the production of bulk viral antigen
• Apply mammalian cell culture practices and techniques for viral and antibody production
• Operate downstream processing equipment, including tangential flow filtration, hollow-fiber filtration, and sterile filtration
• Utilize knowledge of bioreactors and fermentors to identify and troubleshoot mechanical problems
• Complete process documentation in strict accordance with GMP standards
• Adhere to all safety policies regarding biological and chemical components to protect personnel and product quality

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency with computers and working knowledge of the metric system
• Ability to stand continuously and lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work 1st shift (7:15am – 3:45pm) with potential for overtime, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• BS in Biological Sciences
• Relevant experience in biological production or aseptic manufacturing
• Experience with mammalian cell culture practices
• Fundamental understanding of bioreactors and fermentors
