Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on soils, aggregates, concrete, and other construction materials in accordance with industry standards
• Generate accurate and timely test data and reports to support project delivery and client decision-making
• Maintain laboratory equipment through regular calibration, maintenance, and housekeeping
• Support the laboratory quality control program, including internal and external audits
• Manage samples safely and efficiently, including shipping, receiving, logging, storage, and disposal
• Collaborate with field technicians, technologists, and professionals to deliver integrated project outcomes

Requirements

• High school or post-secondary technical education in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
• Ability to obtain Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) Type C certification
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for data entry and report generation
• Strong time management, organization, and analytical skills
• A strong commitment to health and safety in a laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a soil or materials laboratory
