About the role
Responsibilities
- Support laboratory operations and experimental activities, including setting up equipment according to course schedules and preparing materials and samples
- Maintain laboratory facilities and supplies by cleaning and sterilizing equipment, managing inventory, and ordering supplies
- Provide basic technical support and guidance to students and staff, including demonstrating lab techniques and assisting with equipment use
- Assist with administrative lab tasks such as responding to routine enquiries, updating documentation, and supporting record-keeping
- Ensure safe laboratory practices by following established safety procedures and supporting the safe handling of equipment, materials, and chemical waste
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in biological science or an equivalent combination of experience
- Minimum of two years of experience supporting teaching laboratory operations in a university environment
- Experience in physiology, molecular genetics, pharmacology, immunology, or biochemistry
- Demonstrated experience in laboratory equipment setup, maintenance, and solution preparation for biochemistry or immunology
- Knowledge of laboratory health and safety practices
- Proficiency with Office 365
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
