Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Collect and receive samples of raw materials, packaging, in-process, and finished products.
• Perform microbiological, physico-chemical, and sensory analyses according to company methodology.
• Prepare reagents, culture media, and laboratory solutions, ensuring proper identification and monitoring.
• Manage the storage and control of laboratory retention samples.
• Maintain, clean, and verify laboratory glassware, utensils, and equipment.
• Execute bench tests to evaluate new raw materials and implement new methodologies.
• Control laboratory standards, solutions, and expiration dates of materials.
• Develop and review Quality Control procedures and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) rules.
• Ensure equipment calibration and coordinate corrective or preventive maintenance.
• Manage laboratory inventory and signal the need for new purchases of reagents and materials.
• Issue analytical reports and technical documents for microbiological and physico-chemical tests.
• Support internal and external audits and participate in continuous improvement studies (Kaizens).

Requirements

• Experience in microbiological and physico-chemical analysis.
• Proficiency in sensory analysis.
• Strong knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Experience using SAP PLM.
• Familiarity with 5S methodology for workplace organization.
