Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Carry out accurate grain sample testing using approved laboratory methods and quality standards
• Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to support reliable and efficient testing
• Support quality control activities, audits and proficiency trials
• Follow ISO/IEC 17025, biosecurity and SGS procedures to maintain a safe, compliant laboratory
• Assist with consumables, stock control and laboratory housekeeping
• Manage priorities and support workflow to meet turnaround times
• Contribute ideas to improve laboratory processes and testing methods

Requirements

• Scientific qualification or sound scientific knowledge from laboratory experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow approved methods and procedures
• Computer literacy and confidence with laboratory systems
• Good communication and collaborative skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a NATA accredited laboratory
• Experience in the grain industry
