Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory analysis following written methods to ensure high standards of accuracy
• Report, compile, and analyze quality data in a timely manner
• Document and record results using paper, computer systems, or LIMS
• Maintain laboratory instruments and equipment in clean, working order
• Keep working areas clean and tidy to meet high hygiene and auditable standards
• Monitor consumable and chemical stock levels and report shortages to the Laboratory Manager
• Comply with all company, national, and international health, safety, and regulatory standards
• Actively participate in improving laboratory and site safety by reporting hazards and near misses

Requirements

• School level science education
• Understanding of safe chemical handling and usage
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
• Strong communication skills to develop effective working relationships
• Computer literacy and experience using operating systems
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team and independently without constant supervision
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet data deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working within the food industry
