Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Collect and handle patient specimens including blood, urine, sputum, and tissue samples following proper procedures.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, and pathology.
• Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment like centrifuges and automated analyzers.
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results by following strict quality control and assurance procedures.
• Maintain detailed documentation of laboratory procedures, test outcomes, and results in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials.

Requirements

• BMLT, DMLT, or equivalent educational qualifications.
• Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including sample collection, preparation, and analysis.
• Practical knowledge of laboratory instruments such as centrifuges and automated analyzers.
• Strong understanding of infection control, laboratory safety standards, and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills for interacting with medical staff and patients.
• Ability to work in a busy laboratory environment with physical stamina.
