Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform and support cell-based assays to study host-microbiome interactions, focusing on mechanical and immunological mechanisms.
• Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the cell laboratory, including cell cultures, equipment, and inventory management.
• Conduct in vitro experiments and screenings of microbiome-derived compounds or formulations.
• Collaborate closely with researchers to develop and optimize new assays and protocols.
• Maintain high standards of laboratory safety, functionality, and meticulous data recording.

Requirements

• Documented experience in a laboratory environment, specifically with cell culture techniques.
• Proficiency in immunological assays such as ELISA, qPCR, and TEER.
• Strong practical experience maintaining sterile environments and handling biological samples.
• Highly organized with a strong commitment to data quality and integrity.
• A proactive problem-solving attitude regarding laboratory equipment and experimental procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with microbiome-related techniques (e.g., MIC, HALO).
• Experience working in a "start-up" laboratory environment or assisting with the setup of new workflows.
• Experience with immortalized cell cultures, primary cell cultures, or co-culture models.
• Familiarity with laboratory automation.
