Laboratory Technician in Training

Responsibilities

• Train in preparing histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis
• Assess tissue adequacy for testing
• Perform quality control checks on produced materials
• Complete equipment maintenance and logs
• Control operations of equipment and systems
• Assist in accessioning and maintenance of lab logs
• Practice safe work procedures and follow all SOPs

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree with at least 12 semester hours of biology and chemistry
• Proficiency in MS Word
• Ability to sit for the National HT/HTL exam after 1 year of employment
• Histology-specific and Laboratory Technical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of laboratory experience
