Laboratory Technician I

Responsibilities

• Perform sample collection, preparation, extraction, and analysis according to SOPs
• Set up equipment and instrumentation for tests and process control
• Calibrate instrumentation and perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Collect water samples in the field and perform routine tests (turbidity, pH, coliform, etc.)
• Maintain quality control records, charts, and inventory of reagents and glassware
• Ensure proper documentation of all test results and QA/QC audits
• Adhere to all safety, operational, and emergency response procedures

Requirements

• 1-2 years of prior laboratory work experience
• Ability to use laboratory apparatus and equipment for accurate, repeatable work
• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations and data recording
• Ability to use precision measuring devices and hand tools
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50-60 pounds
• Ability to work in an operations environment including outdoor weather and heights

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related science discipline
• Exposure to computerized lab equipment and related systems
• Experience with LabCal System or WIMS software
