Laboratory Technician - Food Microbiologist

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation and microbiological testing across Food, Pharmaceutical, and Water disciplines
• Conduct microbiological confirmation testing and perform/read Pharmaceutical Validations
• Ensure all analytical procedures comply with ALS Quality Work Instructions, TGA, and NATA requirements
• Investigate and resolve non-conformances, deviations, and out-of-specification (OOS) results
• Manage and maintain cultures in accordance with laboratory standards
• Perform calculations and data verification associated with analytical testing
• Act as a NATA Signatory
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and adhere to safety requirements

Requirements

• Tertiary degree in Microbiology, Science, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a microbiological laboratory setting
• Sound knowledge of Food, Pharmaceutical, and/or Water microbiology
• Familiarity with TGA and/or NATA requirements
• Strong numerical and data verification skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks
• Proactive, quality-focused mindset with high attention to detail
