About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform sample preparation and microbiological testing across Food, Pharmaceutical, and Water disciplines
- Conduct microbiological confirmation testing and perform/read Pharmaceutical Validations
- Ensure all analytical procedures comply with ALS Quality Work Instructions, TGA, and NATA requirements
- Investigate and resolve non-conformances, deviations, and out-of-specification (OOS) results
- Manage and maintain cultures in accordance with laboratory standards
- Perform calculations and data verification associated with analytical testing
- Act as a NATA Signatory
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and adhere to safety requirements
Requirements
- Tertiary degree in Microbiology, Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a microbiological laboratory setting
- Sound knowledge of Food, Pharmaceutical, and/or Water microbiology
- Familiarity with TGA and/or NATA requirements
- Strong numerical and data verification skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks
- Proactive, quality-focused mindset with high attention to detail
