Laboratory Technician - Food Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Process food samples for analysis and ensure they are analyzed within holding times
• Perform weighing, checking, and sample preparation for analytical testing
• Complete paperwork and transcribe data into the LIMS system
• Review and approve results from other technicians
• Maintain efficient and safe laboratory operations, including daily housekeeping
• Ensure client turnaround times are met in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Minimum of a laboratory certificate or a qualification in science
• 3 years of experience in a food testing laboratory
• 3 years of experience with food testing wet chemistry techniques or laboratory instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, LC-MSMS, ICPMS)
• Ability to handle raw poultry, meat, and fish on a daily basis
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to undertake reasonable overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a high-throughput, client-focused laboratory environment
• Experience maintaining and improving quality processes
