About the role
Responsibilities
- Process food samples for analysis and ensure they are analyzed within holding times
- Perform weighing, checking, and sample preparation for analytical testing
- Complete paperwork and transcribe data into the LIMS system
- Review and approve results from other technicians
- Maintain efficient and safe laboratory operations, including daily housekeeping
- Ensure client turnaround times are met in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Minimum of a laboratory certificate or a qualification in science
- 3 years of experience in a food testing laboratory
- 3 years of experience with food testing wet chemistry techniques or laboratory instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, LC-MSMS, ICPMS)
- Ability to handle raw poultry, meat, and fish on a daily basis
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to undertake reasonable overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a high-throughput, client-focused laboratory environment
- Experience maintaining and improving quality processes
