About the role
Responsibilities
- Register, process, and prepare food samples and media following quality standards and written procedures
- Perform reading, confirmation, media QC, IQC, and environmental monitoring tests
- Maintain documented procedures, handle samples correctly, and keep quality records
- Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and a clean working environment
- Support UKAS accreditation standards and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver high levels of internal and external customer care
Requirements
- Science degree or equivalent is desirable; laboratory experience is desirable but not essential
- Good organisational and technical problem-solving skills
- Capable of working well under pressure
- Reliable, thorough, and willing to take responsibility
- Commitment to meeting customer expectations
- Passion for maintaining a safe working environment
