Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Register, process, and prepare food samples and media following quality standards and written procedures
• Perform reading, confirmation, media QC, IQC, and environmental monitoring tests
• Maintain documented procedures, handle samples correctly, and keep quality records
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and a clean working environment
• Support UKAS accreditation standards and continuous improvement initiatives
• Deliver high levels of internal and external customer care

Requirements

• Science degree or equivalent is desirable; laboratory experience is desirable but not essential
• Good organisational and technical problem-solving skills
• Capable of working well under pressure
• Reliable, thorough, and willing to take responsibility
• Commitment to meeting customer expectations
• Passion for maintaining a safe working environment
