Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Carry out registration, processing, and media preparation of food samples in line with quality standards and written procedures
• Perform reading, confirmation, media QC, IQC, and environmental monitoring tests
• Adhere to documented laboratory procedures, handle samples correctly, and maintain accurate records and quality data
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and keep the working environment clean and tidy
• Support continuous improvement and UKAS accreditation standards
• Provide high levels of internal and external customer care

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent in science is desirable; laboratory experience is desirable but not essential as full training is provided
• Good organisational and technical problem-solving skills
• Capable of working well under pressure
• Reliable, thorough, and willing to take on responsibility
• Full commitment to meeting customer expectations and providing a safe working environment
