About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform approved analytical tests using ASTM and in-house methods on raw materials, components, and finished products
- Conduct in-process testing as required by the Technical and Operations departments
- Execute calibration and general maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Perform tests on standard reference samples and maintain SMC/SQC charts
- Monitor changes in test methods and calibration procedures to ensure result accuracy
- Assist chemists with lab blend studies and the analysis of non-routine samples
- Manage sample retention in accordance with corporate guidelines
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and laboratory cleanliness
Requirements
- Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical/Biochemical Sciences, or an equivalent field of study
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability and willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts
- Experience in the refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry is preferred, though training will be provided for motivated candidates without direct experience
