Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform approved analytical tests using ASTM and in-house methods on raw materials, components, and finished products
• Conduct in-process testing as required by the Technical and Operations departments
• Execute calibration and general maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Perform tests on standard reference samples and maintain SMC/SQC charts
• Monitor changes in test methods and calibration procedures to ensure result accuracy
• Assist chemists with lab blend studies and the analysis of non-routine samples
• Manage sample retention in accordance with corporate guidelines
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and laboratory cleanliness

Requirements

• Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical/Biochemical Sciences, or an equivalent field of study
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability and willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• Experience in the refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry is preferred, though training will be provided for motivated candidates without direct experience
