About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform preparation and analysis of soil, water, and sediment samples, including weighing, digesting, titrating, or solvent extraction
- Conduct all procedures in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions
- Organize designated tasks to maximize daily laboratory efficiencies
- Complete all tasks within specified timeframes and relevant analysis standards
- Identify and highlight anomalies in results or sample behavior
Requirements
- TAFE or University qualification in a relevant science field
- Genuine interest in the science industry
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong dedication to laboratory safety and quality of results
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment
- Flexibility to work public holidays and weekend shifts if required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a commercial laboratory environment
- Experience in hospitality or roles requiring multitasking and process following
- Proficiency in coding or programming (e.g., VBA, Python, R, SQL)
- Interest or experience in robotics, AI, process automation, or digital optimization
- Skills in computer building, circuitry, automation, or Excel macros
