Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analyses on geological samples using atomic absorption (AAS) and gravimetric measurement methods
• Execute sample dissolution and follow all established standard operating procedures (SOP)
• Maintain routine instrument maintenance and prepare dilution samples and operating solutions
• Maintain productivity logs for instruments and meet specific sample throughput targets
• Test and evaluate standard solutions
• Provide technical support and training to new technicians as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial mineral laboratory
• College-level chemistry laboratory techniques
• Fluency in French (written and verbal); English is considered an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience in a related field
