Laboratory Technical Specialist

Responsibilities

• Ensure all received samples are diagnosed and issued within turnaround times
• Perform investigational analysis including planning and execution of out-of-scope operations
• Generate bespoke reporting in accordance with business and customer requirements
• Provide technical assistance to team leaders to maintain efficient laboratory operations
• Liaise with customers regarding analytical test issues and delays
• Maintain instrument uptime by assisting with analytical instrument issues such as ICP, Viscosity, and FTIR

Requirements

• Experience in a used oil laboratory or lubricant industry technical role
• Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Experience with wet chemistry analysis
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry qualification (C&G / HNC / HND)
• Experience interpreting FTIR, GC-MS, and ICP data
