Laboratory Supervisor, Mineralogy

Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory technicians and technologists in mineralogy operations
• Coordinate metallurgical activities to meet client and project manager expectations regarding schedule and quality
• Ensure compliance with HSE procedures and integrity codes
• Monitor and maintain laboratory quality control (QC) standards and data accuracy
• Schedule department workflow to meet client deadlines and manage project budgets
• Train, motivate, and perform annual performance reviews for staff
• Implement procedures for continuous improvement of equipment and processes
• Provide technical support for metallurgical testing programs
• Manage laboratory supplies, equipment procurement, and maintenance
• Ensure health and safety compliance and maintain a clean working environment

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree (3-year diploma) in chemistry, metallurgical engineering technology, or environmental science
• Minimum 7 years of laboratory experience
• Minimum 1 year of previous supervisory experience, ideally in minerals or metallurgy
• Strong leadership and technical team supervision skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Valid passport for occasional international travel
