About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day laboratory operations in a 24/7 manufacturing environment with a focus on safety, quality, and reliability
- Supervise shift and day laboratory technicians, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 standards
- Partner with Operations, Technology, and Maintenance teams to prioritize work and coordinate sampling plans
- Manage laboratory activities including troubleshooting, test method management, instrument calibration, and equipment validation
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing practices such as 6S, Kaizen, and A3 problem solving
- Oversee administrative tasks including timekeeping, overtime approval, and staffing coverage
- Lead internal quality audits and manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a science field plus at least 5 years in a production environment, or 10 years of experience in a production environment
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety management systems
- Ability to coach individuals and teams in a 24/7 operational setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior people-leadership or direct supervisory experience
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Quality Management Systems (ETQ/Reliance), or ERP systems (SAP)
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and Daily Management
