Laboratory Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Metals Department, managing analyst activities and ensuring the completion, review, and approval of high-quality analyses.
• Manage a group of analysts, including scheduling, training, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
• Ensure strict compliance with the laboratory’s Quality System and ISO 17025 (NELAC) standards.
• Lead the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and new analytical methods.
• Manage equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, and oversee departmental inventory control.
• Coordinate with Project Management and the Inorganic Technical Manager regarding staffing, turnaround times, and project due dates.
• Maintain a safe working environment by collaborating with the Health and Safety Manager and ensuring proper hazardous material handling.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree in a scientific field or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with Metals technology and analytical methods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work irregularly scheduled hours, including overtime, as required.
