Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical and regulatory oversight of the laboratory
• Ensure compliance with CLIA and FL DoH regulations and standards
• Verify test procedures and monitor performance criteria, including accuracy and precision
• Enroll and participate in proficiency testing programs
• Maintain and employ the quality control program
• Resolve technical problems and ensure corrective actions are taken
• Identify training needs and ensure regular in-service training for testing personnel
• Evaluate the competency, proficiency, and confidence of all testing personnel
• Oversee the process of collection, preparation, and submission of testing to external partner labs
• Prepare samples and perform waived and moderate complexity testing
• Maintain inventory and interact with purchasing and finance as needed

Requirements

• Extensive documentation experience including maintenance of records and audit experience
• History of problem resolution through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA
• Demonstrable capabilities as a bench tech in Hematology and Chemistry
• Deep understanding of test orders, specimen preparation, and LIMS to EMR data flows
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Biological or Chemical sciences, Clinical Science, or related field
• At least 6 years of experience in a CLIA certified high complexity testing laboratory

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification with ASCP or similar
• Experience with phlebotomy and patient facing care
• Experience with waived and moderate laboratory operations
