Laboratory Leader - Automotive Batteries

Responsibilities

• Schedule, assign, and coordinate laboratory workflow to ensure optimal staff utilization
• Act as a working supervisor by training staff, providing career counseling, and managing performance
• Develop annual budgetary goals, capital expenditure plans for equipment, and tactical team plans
• Prepare instructions for test methods, quality control, and maintenance procedures
• Evaluate test performance, revise protocols, and report equipment evaluation results
• Monitor test methods and identify needs for technical training or equipment modifications
• Communicate with clients regarding test setups, methods, and results
• Integrate continuous improvement concepts into all laboratory operations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 5+ years of engineering or engineering laboratory experience
• Proven ability to lead a team of diverse experience levels
• Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, or a related field
• Direct experience with automotive battery testing
