Laboratory Instructor - Neuroscience

Responsibilities

• Teach neuroscience laboratory sections, including Neurophysiology, Neuropharmacology, and related courses
• Manage experimental preparations, including generating handouts, preparing solutions, and maintaining equipment
• Present pre-lab lectures and supervise laboratory sections
• Scaffold exploratory student-led research projects and supervise student assistants
• Provide guidance to students regarding data analysis and scientific writing
• Grade pre-lab assignments and laboratory reports
• Oversee the collection and disposal of all laboratory waste

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a natural science field (Neuroscience or Biological Science preferred)
• 1-3 years of experience teaching labs using laboratory equipment and techniques (e.g., behavioral measurement, immunohistochemistry, or electrophysiology)
• Demonstrated experience in supervisory and project coordination roles
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to provide instruction tailored to different learning styles

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree (MS) in a relevant field
• 4-7 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with molecular biology, experimental design, and computer-based data acquisition and analysis
• Experience working with both vertebrate and invertebrate organisms
