Laboratory Instructor - Neuroscience

Responsibilities

• Teach neuroscience laboratory sections, including Neurophysiology and Neuropharmacology
• Manage experimental design and laboratory preparation, including generating handouts and preparing solutions
• Maintain laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and waste disposal protocols
• Present pre-lab lectures and supervise laboratory sections
• Scaffold exploratory student-led research projects within the course context
• Supervise student assistants and provide guidance on data analysis and scientific writing
• Grade pre-lab assignments and laboratory reports

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a natural science field (Neuroscience or Biological Science preferred)
• 1-3 years of experience teaching laboratory sections
• Experience with immunohistochemistry, electrophysiology, or behavioral measurement in small animals
• Demonstrated supervisory and project coordination experience
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree (MS) in a relevant field
• 4-7 years of teaching or laboratory experience
• Familiarity with molecular biology and the use of computers in data acquisition and analysis
