Laboratory Director

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and scientific leadership for all laboratory operations in Singapore, aligning sample processing, sequencing, and bioinformatics workflows.
• Drive a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation across multidisciplinary laboratory teams.
• Serve as the key operational representative for the Singapore site to internal partners and external stakeholders, including regulators and auditors.
• Develop and execute operational plans, capacity strategies, and performance targets aligned with global objectives.
• Oversee financial management of operations, including budget planning and cost efficiency.
• Ensure full laboratory compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements (MOH, HSA, HCSA) and ISO standards.
• Implement and oversee the laboratory management system, including quality, risk management, and CAPA processes.
• Ensure the technical validity of all tests offered and the safe operation of all laboratory services.

Requirements

• BSc or equivalent in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related scientific discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in clinical, molecular, or high-complexity laboratory settings.
• Demonstrated experience managing operations in a regulated clinical laboratory environment (e.g., CAP, CLIA, ISO 15189, HSA/MOH).
• Deep understanding of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies, bioinformatics concepts, and clinical genomics workflows.
• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to represent the organization to regulators and executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with risk management, incident investigation, and clinical governance frameworks.
• Ability to navigate a fast-paced, highly matrixed global organization.
