Laboratory Coordinator/Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy, urine collection, and sample processing (centrifuging, aliquoting, labeling)
• Prepare lab kits and ship biological specimens per IATA guidelines and study protocols
• Maintain specimen logs, shipping records, temperature logs, and documentation
• Conduct point-of-care tests such as urine drug screens and pregnancy tests
• Assist with patient procedures including vital signs, ECGs, and exam setups
• Clean, sanitize, and calibrate lab equipment; ensure OSHA and HIPAA compliance
• Record lab results in electronic/paper systems (CRIO/eCRFs) and resolve data queries
• Monitor lab inventory, order supplies, and destroy expired kits per protocol
• Collaborate with study coordinators and medical staff to meet visit requirements
• Assist with infusion monitoring under clinician supervision as needed

Requirements

• Phlebotomy certification
• Healthcare experience preferred
• Clinical research experience preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and database systems
• Comfortable performing Research Assistant tasks during slower periods
• Ability to handle hazardous materials safely
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication with a customer-service mindset
