Laboratory Assistant

Responsibilities

• Undertaking routine sample preparation for soil, water and air analyses
• Handling acids, solvents and other reagents safely
• Ensuring work is completed on time according to priorities
• Following analytical methods, quality requirements and laboratory procedures
• Preparing standards and reagents and accurately recording data
• Assisting chemists and supervisors with instrument loading and waste disposal

Requirements

• Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (TAFE) or equivalent
• 1–2 years of laboratory experience or sample preparation experience
• Ability to perform hands-on, physical laboratory work
• Flexibility to work shifts as required
