Laboratory Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation, including weighing and traying samples under supervision
• Manage sample disposal and retrieve samples from storage
• Assist analysts and train other Laboratory Assistants
• Maintain routine laboratory maintenance tasks and ensure analytical quality
• Follow established safety regulations and health and safety policies
• Store samples in sample coolers and adhere to established procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous laboratory experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs on a regular basis
• Ability to stand for a full shift and perform repetitive tasks
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, graveyards, and weekends
