About the role

Responsibilities

  • Process client samples in a timely manner to meet turnaround times and holding requirements
  • Perform sample preparation, including weighing, filtering, and dispensing
  • Manage the archiving and disposal of samples
  • Prepare glassware, bottles, and other necessary materials
  • Operate basic laboratory preparation and support equipment
  • Complete basic extractions, digestions, and clean-ups
  • Perform data entry, log registry, and review work lists in LIMS
  • Assist with the calibration of basic instrumentation and preparation of standards
  • Maintain a clean workspace and comply with all health and safety policies

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production or preparation environment
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to stand for a full shift and perform repetitive tasks accurately
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs on a regular basis
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, graveyards, and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge from post-secondary science courses
  • Experience working with chemicals or in a laboratory setting
