About the role
Responsibilities
- Independently weigh prepared pulp for the analysis of geological samples using analytical balances
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment following established safety rules and ALS best practices
- Inspect prepared pulp samples for homogeneity and report any quality concerns or equipment problems to management
- Use Webview software to locate, transport, and update the disposition of client samples
- Wash labware using correct procedures to prevent cross-contamination
- Safely dispose of sample solution waste according to laboratory protocols
- Follow established procedures and schedules to ensure high analytical quality
Requirements
- Grade 11 qualification or equivalent
- At least 3 months of laboratory experience in a production-oriented environment
- Basic computer skills and ability to use software applications
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to lift up to 20lbs and stand/sit at a computer for extended periods
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, graveyards, and weekends
