About the role

Responsibilities

  • Independently weigh prepared pulp for the analysis of geological samples using analytical balances
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment following established safety rules and ALS best practices
  • Inspect prepared pulp samples for homogeneity and report any quality concerns or equipment problems to management
  • Use Webview software to locate, transport, and update the disposition of client samples
  • Wash labware using correct procedures to prevent cross-contamination
  • Safely dispose of sample solution waste according to laboratory protocols
  • Follow established procedures and schedules to ensure high analytical quality

Requirements

  • Grade 11 qualification or equivalent
  • At least 3 months of laboratory experience in a production-oriented environment
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use software applications
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Basic English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to lift up to 20lbs and stand/sit at a computer for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, graveyards, and weekends
