Laboratory Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation including filtration, screening, extraction, and digestion
• Conduct instrument and equipment calibration, maintenance, and repair as required
• Prepare necessary reagents, standards, and reference materials
• Execute data processing tasks such as calculations, data review, entry, and archival
• Maintain general laboratory cleanliness and monitor controlled equipment
• Adhere to established methods, protocols, and safety regulations to ensure analytical quality

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or a related field
• Completion of post-secondary courses in Chemistry or a related field
• Strong analytical and mechanical skills with excellent hand-eye coordination
• Intermediate English communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Intermediate computer skills, specifically with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs and perform repetitive tasks with manual dexterity

Preferred Qualifications

• Diploma in Chemical Science, Technology, or a related field
