Laboratory Analyst, Spectroscopy ICP-MS

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform maintenance on AAS, ICP-AES, and ICP-MS instruments
• Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of geological samples
• Identify and correct QC-related problems to ensure data meets ALS standards
• Evaluate data using instrument software and GEMS
• Prepare sample dilutions, instrument operating solutions, and calibration standards
• Use Microsoft Word and Excel to create written reports
• Prioritize workloads according to daily statistics and turnaround commitments
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following all safety requirements and SOPs
• Maintain and organize inventory of calibration standards, production logs, and equipment records

Requirements

• Recognized Diploma or Degree in Science (Chemistry concentration preferred) or completion of the BC Assayers certification program
• Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience in analytical chemistry, instrumentation, or a related field
• Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Strong analytical and mechanical skills
• Ability to lift filled 20-litre containers (45 lb)
• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks
