Laboratory Analyst

Responsibilities

• Prepare standards, stocks, and materials for laboratory analysis
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot basic and Level 1 analytical instruments
• Generate work lists, organize analytical runs, and prepare complex sample extractions
• Perform data processing, including calculations, data entry, and required record-keeping
• Review and write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and perform Quality Control approval reviews
• Monitor inventory of spare parts and consumables
• Adhere to strict QA/QC requirements and all health and safety policies
• Communicate with Client Services staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of results

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Biology, Microbiology, or a related discipline
• Experience working in a fast-paced production or preparation environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to stand for a full shift and perform repetitive tasks accurately
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (14 kg) on a regular basis
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, graveyards, and weekends, as ALS operates 24/7

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous laboratory experience is considered an asset
• Accurate and efficient data entry skills
