Laboratory Analyst

Responsibilities

• Independently operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GC-MS and GC-MS/MS systems in a high-throughput production environment
• Perform routine and advanced maintenance, including source cleaning, tuning, and vacuum system diagnostics
• Execute analytical testing using EPA 8270, EPA 625, and other client-specific protocols
• Review chromatographic and mass spectral data for integration accuracy and compound identification
• Ensure strict compliance with EPA, state, and accreditation regulatory requirements
• Support method development, optimization, and validation activities
• Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior analysts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
• 1-3 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining GC-MS and/or GC-MS/MS instrumentation
• Demonstrated experience performing EPA 8270 and EPA 625 in a regulated environmental laboratory
• Strong technical understanding of GC-MS/MS theory and troubleshooting
• Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven production laboratory

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a high-throughput environmental production laboratory
• Direct involvement in method development or validation
• Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) or other highly regulated compliance programs
• Experience supporting regulatory audits and defensible data packages
