About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the hospital's labor relations program, including the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Administer labor contracts and provide interpretation to managers, employees, and HR staff.
  • Oversee the processes for the review and resolution of employee grievances and arbitration.
  • Advise leadership on sensitive labor relations matters, performance issues, and disciplinary actions.
  • Serve as a key member of the hospital's negotiation team during contract discussions with employee organizations.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication and maintain productive working relationships with employee representative organizations.
  • Investigate and respond to complaints from the National Labor Relations Board.
  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures concerning employee relations and personnel practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (relevant experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis).
  • 5 years of professional experience in collective bargaining and labor relations activities.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proven experience in contract administration, grievance processing, and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and labor relations principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
