Labor Economist Intern

Responsibilities

• Facilitate knowledge-sharing between EU Member States and ECA region through curated learning materials and case studies
• Support engagement and collaboration with European Institutions, including the European Commission
• Organize seminars, workshops, and conferences by coordinating speakers and handling logistics
• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize research findings for background papers and reports
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of lending operations and technical assistance interventions
• Participate in cross-sectoral analytical activities to develop holistic development solutions
• Maintain regular interactions with internal and external collaborators to ensure smooth information flow

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or in the final year of a postgraduate (master’s/PhD) program
• 0–6 years of relevant professional experience
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency in data management, visualization, and reporting
• Advanced quantitative analysis skills using STATA, R, or Python is an advantage
• Ability to work effectively in diverse, team-based environments
• Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in ECCEU priority issues such as aging, long-term care, migration, or skills/jobs
• Experience working with European institutions, notably the European Commission (EC)
