About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to multiple attorneys and paralegals within the Labor & Employment practice group
- Manage attorney communications, schedules, and calendars
- Prepare and process legal documents, including electronic filings in Ohio Courts, pleadings, motions, and affidavits
- Maintain accurate information in case management systems and perform data entry
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court clerks via telephone and email
- Prepare and format memoranda, correspondence, legal advertisements, and other legal documents
- Handle time-sensitive tasks including overnight packages, messenger deliveries, and mailings
- Proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and high quality
- Maintain court dockets and follow up on the return of filings
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant
- Excellent technical and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with top-notch proofreading skills
- Proven ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively both as a team player and an independent worker
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the legal processes specifically surrounding labor and employment law
- Experience working with Labor & Employment attorneys
