Lab Waste & Facilities Support Technician

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory waste streams ensuring safe and compliant disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Follow procedures for chemical handling, treatment, storage, and disposal per OSHA standards
• Collect waste from laboratory departments and prepare materials for disposal
• Maintain accurate records of on-site hazardous materials and verify/label waste
• Coordinate waste pick-ups with approved vendors
• Conduct daily safety walkthroughs to assess waste needs and identify hazards
• Assist with general facility maintenance tasks to support laboratory operations
• Support Sample Management with kit preparation, shipping/receiving, and sample log-in

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver’s License
• Experience with hazardous waste, environmental services, or facility operations preferred
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and work in a hands-on environment
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
