Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Conduct manual and electronic login procedures for laboratory samples
• Sub-sample materials for NPDES wastewater permit compliance
• Record and compute test data while maintaining quality control records
• Prepare reagent, chemical solutions, and standards
• Maintain laboratory inventory and MSDS documentation
• Perform periodic audits of analytical logs for regulatory compliance
• Set up, clean, and perform minor repairs on laboratory equipment
• Dispose of laboratory waste according to established guidelines

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent with coursework in Chemistry or Biology preferred
• 0-2 years of experience in a related laboratory environment
• Ability to use laboratory apparatus and equipment for accurate work
• Proficiency in mathematical concepts including statistics and geometry
• Ability to interpret technical instructions and write reports
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record for field work
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to computerized lab equipment and related systems
• HAZWOPER Level I and II First Responder Certification
• Experience in a NELAC or State Certified Lab
