Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Develop test plans based on specifications provided by design engineering
• Identify, procure, and set up required test hardware and fixtures
• Publish lab reports that clearly present data and conclusions
• Perform evaluations of failed tools returned for warranty analysis to determine root cause
• Execute simple rework of mechanical and electrical components, including wiring and component replacement
• Support the transition of new parts, test equipment, and fixtures from design to production
• Assist in creating and revising engineering specifications under the guidance of design engineering
• Communicate project status through regular reports to ensure timing metrics are met

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working in an engineering lab environment or equivalent
• Experience in the design, testing, and validation of complex mechanical and electrical components
• Proficiency with LabVIEW software for test development
• Competency in failure root cause analysis
• Strong understanding of 2D and 3D design principles
• Excellent communication and computer skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Design background with the capability to complete simple fixture drawings
